- Graduated in Medicine from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) in 1997.
- • Medical residency in general surgery at Hospital Municipal Odilon Behrens from 1998 to 1999.
- • Residency in urology at Hospital Felício Rocho from 2000 to 2002.
- Foreign residency at the Institute Mutualiste Montsouris – Paris, with an emphasis on laparoscopic and robotic surgery from 2006 to 2007.
- Master's Degree in Oncology in 2016.
- Training in robotic surgery in 2017.
- Current scientific director of the Brazilian Society of Urology Sectional Minas Gerais (Biennium 2020-2021).
- Current CEO of Hospital Urológica (Triennium 2020-2023).
- Preceptor of the urology residency at Hospital Felício Rocho since 2006.
Born in Minas Gerais, he lived his first 16 years in Sete Lagoas. Soon after, he went to Belo Horizonte, the city where he studied medicine and began his career in the health area.
After completing a degree in Medicine at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 1997, Dr. Carlos Vaz started a Medical Residency in General Surgery (1998 and 1999) at Hospital Municipal Odilon Bherens and residency in Urology (2000 to 2002) at Hospital Felício Rock.
Seeking international improvement, Dr. performed his foreign residency from 2006 to 2007 at the Institute Mutualiste Montsouris, in Paris, with an emphasis on laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
After years of studies and work, he showed great interest in Uro-oncology and made it his professional mission.
Ready to practice, he works as a reference in robotic and laparoscopic surgery in an Uro-oncology service.
With extensive knowledge and numerous experiences, Dr. Carlos Vaz was invited to compose the clinical staff and Board of the Hospital Urológica, in addition to acting as Scientific Director of the Brazilian Society of Sectional Urology Minas Gerais.
